stats tables
[edit]These statistics tables have really got to go. They could be reincorporated as paragraph sized blurbs or something similar, but as of now they're an eyesore. I'd also say they're outside the scope of an encyclopedia article but I'll wait for some consensus before changing that much of this article.
I agree. Maybe make that section collapsable? I've seen this on other pages. Greg Salter 16:45, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'll put it on the lengthy to-do list, but anyone else is free to rid the page of them, too--Keefer4 09:37, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- These are facts, so unless it is cited, the information should be completely removed per WP:V anyways. Billscottbob (talk) 04:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Submarines...what?
[edit]With respect to the contributors, I don't think an article on Port Moody should be dominated by a rather peripheral discussion of submarine activity in the area. The story of Port Moody's early existence is obviously the railway, and that gets a short para at the bottom.
The stuff itself is interesting, but this isn't the right article. Maybe dump the "BC Submarine Navy" into the article on the premier of the time, and so forth.
If there's consensus on this, I'll try to de-submarinize the article at some point in the near future. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rcousine (talk • contribs) 01:31, 17 April 2007 (UTC).
CN Rail?
[edit]There's a link in the article to CN Rail. Isn't the only rail line in Port Moody CP Rail, or am I wrong? Greg Salter (talk) 18:27, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Proposal to rename page
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was move.
Proposed rename: Port Moody, British Columbia → Port Moody
Port Moody currently redirects to Port Moody, British Columbia. There is no Port Moody (disambiguation) page; other uses of Port Moody in page names are either secondary to the community or used in composite names. As the place name is evidently unique and primary, it is proposed to simplify the page name per WP:CANSTYLE and WP:PRIMARYUSAGE. Dl2000 (talk) 03:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Support per nom. - DigitalC (talk) 07:27, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Support; an internet search suggests that, despite restricting a query to non-BC occurrences of "Port Moody", results are still strongly associated with this city. Mindmatrix 14:30, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose; Port Moody is too small for stand-alone status and has no name recognition outside of British Columbia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.77.35.112 (talk) 06:28, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- Doesn't matter, it happened 2 years ago. And it was the right decision. Greg Salter (talk) 15:46, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
