Your statement concerning the public domain of Vatican writings may have merit. At the moment, however, I am uncertain. I think it will depend on whether these are works of the Holy See rather than the Vatican State. Their website seems to indicate ownership of all copyrights. I'll ask for some clarification of this from the Wikipedia copyright experts. There is a dominican theologian named Jean-Marie Tillard who appears to have made significant contributions to the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. He might possibly deserve to be mentioned in a Wikipedia article. [1]ADM (talk) 06:29, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
