Not Too Soon

[edit]

The teams have already submitted their list of player for this season. The draft is coming up soon. Transfers such as Shahid Afridi as already been done. Multan Sultans has been added for this season. This is already notable, it is not too soon. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 21:39, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, pretty much it is. You're in breach of WP:CRYSTAL and WP:TOOSOON. You're speculating on something that might or might not happen. It probably will, so wait until the end of January when there's going to be more known about what might actually happen. Once you're there perhaps it might be a good idea to get some decent sources as well. Blue Square Thing (talk) 21:43, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No. I am not. Would you say the same about Super_Bowl_LIII? There are plenty of references. I have added two. There is no speculating going on. Everything in the article is verified. Event itself is notable. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 22:40, 17 October 2017 (UTC) So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 22:40, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
a) yes, I would say the same thing; b) this is a team article, not the Super Bowl. There's a slight difference of scale. Blue Square Thing (talk) 22:50, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well then we have a difference of opinion. I look forward to debating this and Super Bowl LVI,Super Bowl LV, Super Bowl LIV, and Super Bowl LIII in AFDs. If you truly believe this please nominate all four articles for AFD. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 00:33, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect seems most sensible

[edit]

I'd say a redirect here seems the most sensible approach. This is in line with the consensus which was established last year before the 2017 season. That consensus was reached after discussion with several editors and, I think, included some discussion on the project page. It can wait. Honestly it can. We don't need to try to predict the future. Where is the consensus? So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 22:46, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The consensus when this was discussed last year was that this was way too soon - we went with February as being the best time. It was discussed and dealt with in a variety of ways, including through edit summaries. Those discussions were never formalised in one place, but early and spurious creation of articles around the league has been a major problem in the past - this discussion and this one gives a flavour. That's why I've suggested some ground rules on the project page to formalise the sorts of things which were discussed. Blue Square Thing (talk) 05:40, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of those apply to me. Every thing I have added has been verified. I am not making articles years in advance, only after information is starting to noted in the news. Try again. So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 16:06, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The general feeling seems to be that this far in advance is too far. For example, there's an AfD on the block right now regarding a team season article created for the IPL 2018 season Blue Square Thing (talk) 16:38, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please discuss here So said The Great Wiki Lord. (talk) 16:21, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am - I started the discussion remember... Blue Square Thing (talk) 16:38, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
