| The permanent match is NOT the only device used in The Maltese Falcon to light their cigarettes! At exactly 1 hour and 21 minutes, the character Joe Cairo uses a standard thumb-operated lighter to light his cigarette. Granted, he is in the background when he does it, but the action is quite visible and readily identifiable to any viewer. |
