False citation?
[edit]Although reference 3 is cited in this article as supporting a (Ptilocercus+Primates) relationship, the abstract of that article clearly states that its analysis reveals a (Dermoptera+Primates) relationship, with Ptilocercus and other tree shrews more distant. Statement of relationship between Ptilocercus and Primates needs to be either based on some other research or else removed. - You're right, the citation was wrong, I've deleted it. Whoever wrote that "It is considered the closest relative of extant primates" simply didn't know how to read a family tree. Figure 2 of the cited paper shows Dermoptera and Primates as sister-groups, together forming the sister-group of Scandentia (not just Ptilocercus, but all of them). More recent papers have found the treeshrews closer to the rodents + lagomorphs, if I remember correctly, but I'd need to dig into the literature to fix this. Misses information on reproduction
[edit]The article should mention how they live, how many offsprings they have and so forth. 2A02:8388:1643:D680:92DD:5A73:55E0:A90C (talk) 20:02, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed. When you find a reliable, independent source with that information, please update the article and cite your sources. - UtherSRG (talk) 20:08, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
