Other Peabody hotels

[edit]

I personally think that this article should be about the Peabody Hotel in Memphis only and the other hotels should get their own article. There is a hefty paragraph on the other hotels which I do not think is necessary. The article was changed to be about all the Peabody Hotels, but it was originally about the one in Memphis only. I've changed it back, however if the other hotels are notable in any way, perhaps they deserve their own article. If they are not particularly notable, then they don't deserve to be in the primary focus of this article, and should only get a section of their own, perhaps. So, for the moment, I suggest leaving this article to be about the Peabody Memphis (which is highly notable), unless somebody has a significant amount of material to add about the other two Peabody Hotels. -- Otto 15:13, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. The article shoud be about the Memphis Peabody only. doxTxob \ talk 17:51, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note - The middle photo seems to be of a different fountain. The Peabody fountain walls have a black marble cap. See the other photo - which is the actual fountain.

I'm not going to revert these outright, but I would highly recommend that somebody look at this and reword everything. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. This article now reads like an advertisement, which is pretty much unacceptable.

Additionally, quite a lot of information was removed, as were a few references. These need to be added back into the article. It may require a reversion to get this article back to a good place.

Well, no response from them for three days. So I'm reverting to remove all the ad copy and to put the references back. Some of their material might be worthwhile though, it's in the history if you want to put it back. -- Otto (talk) 21:31, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
