Well, I have become one and I'm glad that I have.
Misrepresentation of facts
[edit]I've never read one modern proponent of partial preterism who teaches that the "Babylon" of Rev. 17-18 meant "pagan Rome." This assertion appears to be a smoke-screen concealing Anti-Semitic bias. Partial Preterists believe that Israel was a "great harlot" destroyed by God in A.D. 70, and that the Christian church is the 'real Israel.'--Orthodox45 (talk) 14:48, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
When does Jesus begin "subjugating His enemies"
[edit]Article says: Partial Preterists believe that the new creation comes in redemptive progression as Christ reigns from His heavenly throne, subjugating His enemies, and will eventually culminate in the destruction of physical death, the "last enemy" (1 Cor 15:20-24). If there are any enemies remaining, the resurrection event cannot have occurred.
From the above statements, I understand that Jesus is redeeming the world, by subjugating enemies. If this is the case then at some point I would expect theere to be less enemies of Jesus, until they were none. My guess is that His battle has been losing ground in the last 100 years.
My understanding of Scripture lines up with this increased enemies of Jesus; the world will become like it was in the days of Noah, then the end will come.71.68.224.39 (talk) 03:59, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Assessment comment

Partial Preterism article states, "Partial preterism sees Matthew 24, Matthew 25:31-46, the Book of Daniel and most of the Book of Revelation (besides its last 2 or 3 chapters) as speaking about events no later than the first century AD, and about a coming of Christ in judgement, not the (second, final and bodily) coming of Christ and Last judgement."
Being a partial preterist and reading people like R.C. Sproul, I deny that. Matthew 25:31-46 is *NOT* taken to be anything but the Final Judgment by partial preterists. Also part of Mt 24, 24:29-31, is also considered to be future. As are a few verses at the end of Daniel. |
