Sunday is special in the Retiro Park where the Madrilenos play their little games. That's why I put in an External Link to a travel story, "Madrid's Sunday Ritual".

Please wait for a response on this talkpage when you announce your intentions to include these Terje Raa travel stories. Don’t include them yourself, as including these links are your only contributions here, you seem to have a conflict of interest. Please wait for community input, thanks. --Van helsing 12:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Buen Retiro Editors! The proposed link could go like this:

I look forward to your decision.........Scribbleman 06:29, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name in English?

[edit]

Parque del Buen Retiro is Spanish, is there a name in English? Such as "Buen Retiro Park" or "Park of Buen Retiro"? Gryffindor 05:08, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is also known in English as Retiro Park which I feel that the article should be titled. Cgoodwin (talk) 03:14, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not. That's like saying the Pont Neuf is known in English as "New Bridge"-- or as I hear often, to my enjoyment, "Bridge Nine". How about the Tileworks Garden? What one local "feels" may not be good enough for Wikipedia.--Wetman (talk) 06:07, 30 March 2009 (UTC)--Wetman (talk) 06:07, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Britannica's online encyclopedia and CDs etc have articles on "Retiro Park" with the notation that it was originally called the Parque del Buen Retiro. A "Retiro Park" search yielded 163,000 hits with Parque del Buen Retiro yielding about 73,400. Cgoodwin (talk) 06:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism?

[edit]
In the article, it shows (at least for me) under Location, "tyler is the bomb at reading.l" as the last sentence. I went to delete, but didn't see it. I've refreshed the page, and tried clicking off then back on and other things, but it's still there, and I don't see it when I go to edit it out. I don't know about editing, though, so I just wanted to try and notify someone that did know about editing. 99.139.213.172 (talk) 01:27, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong title

[edit]

Why is this article being called 'Buen Retiro Park'? If you're trying to give justice to the Spanish name, then you're wrong. A simple inspection of the Spanish article would clarify this. The names for it are 'Jardines del Retiro de Madrid' or 'Parque del Retiro'. So 'Retiro Park' would do just fine. 'Jardines del Buen Retiro de Madrid' refers to the little park area that existed about 100 years ago adjacent to Parque del Retiro. The Spanish article for Retiro Park even says this.

Title should be Retiro Park. Depor23 (talk) 12:03, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missing notable site

[edit]

This article does not include the notable site of Ermita de San Pelayo y San Isidoro, now relocated to Retiro Park AttempingUpright (talk) 22:12, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
