First hand YouTube auto-bio removed

[edit]

@Thilsebatti: has removed a valuable reference - a YouTube auto-biographical video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZLd6BP46DI by the subject; whence valuable information can be sourced. Why is this removal valid? Can it be reversed? Also, valuable citations were removed saying "external link spamming"; which is weird since the article entirely relies on such. विश्वासो वासुकेयः (talk) 00:38, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Vishvas vasuki, I'm sorry for the summary. I actually did not mean that. Last month we had a lot of external link spamming on Chandrayaan-3 during the time of its launching. So first I thought the same was the happening here. But you are a good contributor to this encyclopaedia and I appreciate your efforts. YouTube sources are generally considered unreliable. That is the reason why I removed it. Thilsebatti (talk) 02:07, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Thilsebatti: - "YouTube sources are generally considered unreliable." - but in this case, it is reliable and valuable - do you agree? विश्वासो वासुकेयः (talk) 02:45, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If using the link as a source to support article content, then you must establish that the uploader and the video meet the standards for a reliable source. Thilsebatti (talk) 05:46, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why does the uploader come into picture given that the subject is speaking? Isn't the fact that the subject is describing his career progression sufficient to establish the video's reliabillity? विश्वासो वासुकेयः (talk) 07:57, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone provide a link to his PhD thesis at IIT Madras? 2001:1C01:3DC5:4600:7833:8183:99A7:B6F3 (talk) 15:59, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
