Current title

[edit]

I know that this is the only accident of this type thus far, but the current title doesn't feel, to me, as if it puts the topic into context properly. Certainly, however, the current titling uses improper capitals. From what I can tell searching for multi-modal collision articles elsewhere on wikipedia, when one vehicle incurs far more damage, it tends to be the primary subject of the article (see List of road accidents 2000–09). Perhaps 2013 Ottawa bus collision? Even 2013 Ottawa bus-train collision works better. - Floydian τ ¢ 03:58, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now that I look at other articles, I can see your point about the capitalization and I agree. I will change it right away. As for the collision vs. crash part, I originally had the name as "Ottawa bus-train collision" . But when I look over the naming used in the media, I found that they mostly used the word crash. The Toronto Star in particular (as well as one or two others I think) would refer to it as the "Ottawa bus-train crash". I do think that the event is unique enough that it is not necessary to put a date. I guess if it is really necessary, we could just set up a bunch of redirects so the article would be easy to find, even with the date in the title and with the confusion about crash and collision. (and if you are wondering, I was the one who created the article) Gmwikipedier (talk) 18:31, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agreed that this article should be renamed 2013 Ottawa bus-train collision as it will more than likely have to be in years to come.10:15, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
