[edit]Well when you write out the list of disadvantages it sounds rather negative, but i'm still excitid to get mine PizzaMan (talk) 11:48, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- well the waterproof feature now excludes even swimming or taking a shower. That takes away a little of my excitement PizzaMan (talk) 06:39, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- I have mine now, so i updated this article from experience. The list of disadvantages does keep growing, but all in all i'm still looking forward to how it will be in daily usage PizzaMan (talk) 21:39, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I can confirm most of the disadvantages, including shipping without accessories and not responding to customer support email. It's really too bad because now nobody will want to buy one anymore and it's really nice hardware essentially. Lokifish, who was doing a lot of software development on xda just gave up too because of the lack of support :-( PizzaMan (talk) 08:02, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- The list of disadvantages just keeps on growing. Seems the manufacturer just gave up, with multiple sources indicating the product is EOL even before the last batch is shipped! I updated the wiki and i'll probably continue using my truesmart, but i don't think too many people will still care about the product or this wiki entry. Still, the product was ahead of it's time as the first stand-alone smartwatch, so i think it's notable enough to retain this wikipedia page. It's also a historic insight into how kickstarter worked and didn't work. PizzaMan (talk) 12:16, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Why were some of the "challenges" removed? Is this someone from Omate trying to censor things? (edit: i see it's a single-purpose ip-address with just two edits. Suspicious). Also, i fail to see how the article contains colloquialisms, so please point them out specifically. There are some tech-ish terms, but then this is an article about a piece of tech. Removing the colloquial tag for now. PizzaMan (♨♨) 17:58, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately my request for protection was denied, but this page continues to be edited with advertising for new products by the company and removal of criticism. I placed a message on the userpage of the IP poster. If you think other products deserve a section on this entry, please discuss here before adding sections about other products than the one this page is about. First?
[edit]Article states " In contrast to other smartwatches, the Omate is a complete standalone telecom mobile ..."
I guess it's first of that kind? I know other like Nubia Alpha so if it is first it should be stated. 95.178.143.119 (talk) 08:15, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
