Personal Life?

[edit]

For someone with as long and as notable a career as Mr. Hakim, one might expect at least a nibble of information on his personal life (e.g. home city, family, etc) on his Wiki page. Is Mr. Hakim known to be a very private person? 72.0.15.8 (talk) 14:11, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

DOB?

[edit]

Seems to be in dispute. Can anyone add a reference or source? Ifnord (talk) 21:02, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"With Weather Report" section slightly inaccurate

[edit]

Not only does the link for Weather Report (1982) lead to the band, not the album, but Omar Hakim did not play on Weather Report (1982). Not only do I have the album with the credits, but http://www.weatherreportdiscography.org/weather-report-1982/#personnel also states this. It is a fairly well-known fact in WR circles that Omar Hakim joined the band after Jaco and Peter Erskine abruptly left in 1982, and he recruited the other two band members just in time for their next album, Procession (1983). I will remove the bullet point from the Weather Report section. Carbohydrite (talk) 04:44, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage to Rachel Z

[edit]

Hakim married Rachel Z (Rachel Carmel Nicolazzo Z) around 2010 and formed the Trio of Oz. The band performs improvised EDM, electronica, jazz, funk, and alternative rock. Together they also launched OZmosis Records. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ArtHodges (talkcontribs) 01:26, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
