article additions
[edit]That was me who added that stuff under the 66.something IP. It logged me out while i was editing. I tried to source everything, i found alot of interesting info on morton i tried to include.
One thing though, read one source where it talked like morton was kind of moderate during reconstruction, but another where it blasts him for being radical. Not sure which is accurate. I went with the radical one, (i think that sounds more like the man, he did vote to impeach johnson, i think that qualifies him for radical status) but i footnoted both. The conflicting sources are Biographical and Historical Sketches of Early Indiana By William Wesley Woollen Pg 138 -saying he was radical. and Lockridge, Ross F. The Story of Indiana, 1957, pg. 325-332 -sounds to me to say he is moderate. Cool10191 (talk) 18:33, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
disambiguation
[edit]There is a living author named Oliver Morton, but searches on his name lead here. I suppose I could add a request for an article on him, but for now I am posting this note seeking help from contributors more expert than I am in such matters. - Not a problem. When the article is written, either the author will be at Oliver Morton, or if he is marginally notable, at Olver Morton (author). In either case, there will be links at the top of each article leading to the other.
- It may be best, however, to write the article on the author in a userspace, and then request a {{move}}. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 19:26, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was move per request as the clear commmon name.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 01:33, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Oliver Hazard Perry Morton → Oliver P. Morton – Move to usual form. While the full name, with Throck is occasionally written out, this isn't. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 19:32, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Clearly the most commonly used name. 10 hits for "Oliver Hazard Perry Throck Morton" and four hits for "Oliver Hazard Perry Morton" in the gnews archives, compared to 3290 for "Oliver P. Morton". Jenks24 (talk) 16:29, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
