Summary
[edit]- I added a plot summary. Tell me what you think! Geohevy 23:27, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks pretty good. - A Link to the Past (talk) 07:27, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I just read this book to my son. It said that Old Yeller got hydrophobia.
- Hydrophobia = Rabies. 70.48.176.15 01:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
About the summary ... if this article is about the book, the citation should be to the book, not the movie. -Phoenixrod (talk) 17:53, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Good movie, but better book.
[edit]I've found that most movies just don't measure up to the books on which they were based, and "Old Yeller" is no exception to that rule. The movie is good, but the book is ten times better. Someone commented that he didn't like how the book ended. I agree that the movie's ending was more dramatic, but the book's ending was much more realistic for a pioneer family.24.56.113.189 (talk) 19:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Blackmouth Cur?
[edit]Where does the phrase about its being a Blackmouth Cur come from? I'd heard it was a Carolina Dog. This is also on the disambiguation page for "yellow dog", but it is also not cited. Would you object if I removed it? Chrisrus (talk) 13:31, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- The OCLC (WorldCat) description says "yellow cur".
- Both the dog book (Renna 2012)[1] and essay (Shue 2014)[2] I added as sources make the claim.
- Didn't find useable source for Carolina Dog.--Kiyoweap (talk) 08:01, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
