The daughters not the sons

[edit]

Oceanids refers to the daughters, not the sons, of Oceanus and Tethys. Hence, the river gods shouldn't be mentioned here. T@nn 02:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree. Potamoi (River gods) are definately not Oceanids, they are a very different kind of deity, and so a list of their names should not be included in a article on Oceanids. The Prime Source 11:17, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Dale[reply]

Poseidon's wife

[edit]

The article states:

"One of these many daughters was also said to have been the wife of the god Poseidon, though throughout legend it is never specified which to whom he was wed."

It has been specified in legend many times, by many sources whom the wife of Poseidon is. Her name is AMPHITRITE. I think that people should at least know that before they start to write about mythology.

3000 or 4000 daughters?

[edit]

The article at the page www.pantheon.org/articles/o/oceanids.html talks about 4000 rather than 3000 Oceanids. Which figure is correct?
