Proposed deletion

[edit]

I can't see why this article was proposed for deletion. It has references. Biscuittin (talk) 23:56, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The citation style is not being followed. All I see are links to other websites without any meaningful link to an article about the subject in question. which might be considered promotional. I do not see independent coverage by news sites, which is required by WP:V, thus fails WP:N. I am contesting, and move to AfD. Phearson (talk) 05:55, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A supercategory above obstacle racing?

[edit]

I was looking through some related articles to this present one just trying to grok this particular sort of racing phenomenon. There appears to be a more general category which is occasionally called "themed racing". I see this label in some blogging and foot racing articles on the web though I haven't found anything in print. As the name suggests, it's any sort of foot race with themes presumably to entertain, challenge, or spice up the race, such as what is described here. Obstacle racing would be a subcategory. Googling around, The Color Run (runners are sprayed with brightly colored dyes as they run the course), Run For Your Lives (runners evade "zombies" and try to finish the course), and a number of other unusual themed races are out there.

I don't keep up with this stuff, but I thought it might be worth following up on for anyone who is interested in this area and can come up with decent citations to set the article up. -- KarlHallowell (talk) 05:43, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
