"Spun-off"?

[edit]

"...the company sold some locations and spun-off the remaining shopping centers,..."

I have no idea what this means. Apparently "spun-off" doesn't mean "sold", since it is given as distinct from the locations that were sold. Does it mean they were abandoned? Forfeit for unpaid property taxes? Turned into franchises? Given to the resident business owners?

At any rate, the term "spun-off" needs to be explained, or replaced with a more appropriate and less obscure term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.89.176.249 (talk) 18:45, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Defending against sockpuppet edits

[edit]

Hi @LilianaUwU! I'm new to editing, but I'm not sure the Handmade44 edit is the best one to revert to. That account (along with about two and a half dozen others) are sockpuppets of the mall-crazed Incredible93. From what I can tell, they run through articles deleting content and messing up the grammar as they go:

i.e. ""In August, 2018, it was announced regional division The Bon-Ton would shutter as part of bankruptcy.""

versus

""...and The Bon-Ton (originally Fowler's) closed on August 29, 2018 due to company bankruptcy.""

in the previous edit. Would you agree?

Sincerely,

@BigDataNovice: Thanks for the information. With that info, I've reverted to your version. Have a good day/night/etc. LilianaUwU (talk / contribs) 04:09, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
