I am beginning an article on the OER University. I am gathering sources and will gradually add.--Tbirdcymru (talk) 16:14, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Excellent start, Tbird! Looking forward to seeing where you take this. I made a couple of small tweaks; hopefully self-explanatory, but feel free to ask if they prompt questions! -Pete (talk) 17:53, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
I am fairly new to Wikipedia and am interested in open education, and write on the OER University from my interest. I cited WikiEducator for the list of founding anchor partners. If anyone has a better reference listing these, please add it. It seems quite important to say who the partners are, so I risked citing WikiEducator! --Tbirdcymru (talk) 21:11, 5 September 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tbirdcymru (talk • contribs)
- Great to see a page started on this worthy project. A few things I know through my involvement with CreativeCommons Aotearoa/ NZ (which is now under the stewardship of the OERf), which might be useful in writing a History section. The links here may or may not be acceptable as citations to the Wikipedia mods, because they all point to the source project; Wikipedia and OERu are two projects of the same organisation, the OERf, so whoever writes this up may have to find independent sources:
- WikiEducator was established in February 2006 by Dr Wayne Mackintosh:
- The OER Foundation (OERf) was founded in September 17, 2009, as a stewardship organisation for WikiEducator (similar to the stewardship role the WikiMedia Foundation plays for Wikipedia): http://wikieducator.org/Launch_of_the_OER_foundation
- OER Foundation is also the stewardship organisation for OERu, which was founded in 2011: http://wikieducator.org/OERu/2011.11_OERu_Meeting_summary
- OERu was originally called "OER University", with the last word only changed to "Universitas" in 2013: http://oeru.org/news/the-oer-university-becomes-oer-universitas/
- as well as the smaller subset of founding partners you listed, more partners have been added over time: http://wikieducator.org/OERu/Home
Also, similar or related Wikipedia pages could be added in a "see also" section like the one in this page: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Open_educational_resources — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.99.26.160 (talk) 13:05, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
The above comments were by me, just got a new account sorted out ;) Danylstrype (talk) 09:35, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
