Proposed merge with Domus Academy
[edit]I can't find any evidence that Domus Academy is a separate entity. Its degrees are awarded by NABA, and its address, via Carlo Darwin 20, 20143 Milan, is the same. Both were bought by Laureate Education at the same time. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:31, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
I personally wouldn't do that. It's true that the two schools are based in the same campus but at the end they are still two separate entities without common courses. They have two different history and background even if they belong no to the same international entity. Students are feeing strongly the sense of being part of one of the two. The two articles should not be merged as they are two separate and different educational entities. Point by point:
1) NABA currently awards the degrees granted my Domus Academy- true, because of the type of educational methods and programs used by the school, the Ministero dell'Istruzione will not allow them to grant legally recognized programs; because of this the school grants awards through other educational institutes as well as granting it own (not-recognized) degrees. Previous partners have been the University of Wales and for a brief period, the University of Liverpool. Through all this Domus Academy has retained all control over it's programs, classes and grading system. Also, to obtain the third-party granted degree, students must also cover all enrollment requirements set by the institution.
2) Both institutions share the campus on Via Darwin, sometimes known as the Laureate Italian Arts and Design Education (LIADE) campus, but this campus is also shared with SAS Institute and Scuola Leonardo da Vinci Milano. Previous to the acquisition by Laureate, Domus Academy had a different location in the same area of Milan.
3) Students from both institutions feel very strongly about which one they attend, and while activities and events are created to integrate them, it is very clear to all of them that the schools are entirely separate, and both camps make a clear distinction of it when asked. - Given the consensus against, I've removed the merge templates. Klbrain (talk) 13:55, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
