Free radical bit

Reduction Potential

Cp2TiCl is listed in the one-electron reductant category but no potential is given. Anyone know what it is? It's hard to find stuff like this for well-known old compounds. Pelirojopajaro (talk) 14:26, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is not a one-electron reductant in the sense of outer-sphere electron transfer, where redox potentials are readily obtainable. Instead the reagent participates in atom-transfer reaction but without releasing the species that is reduced. Furthermore "it" is a dimer, but the entity that participates in atom-trans is probably monomeric Cp2TiCl. So the situation is complicated.--Smokefoot (talk) 18:52, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
