I have removed the following from the article:

North Memphis is a notoriously dangerous section of Memphis as criminality is mostly committed here. There has been reported of CALIFORNIA based gangs within N. Memphis like Bloods and Crips in certain areas of N. Memphis. Although, the more dominate Chicago based organizations like:Vice Lords (TVL, MTVL, CVL, UVL, UTVL & RVL), Memphis has such a strong Vice Lord Gang presence that a new Vice Lord faction was formed on the Northside called IUVL, the Northside is also home to 4 CORNER HUSTLERS (mainly in Smokey City), Black P. Stones, Mickey Cobras (mostly in the Klondike area), as well as Gangster Disciples (GDs),Black Disciples(BDs)and most recently Black Gangsters aka New Breeds, gangs are known to heavy populate the entire area of North Memphis. North Memphis is the hell of Memphis. North Memphis is so notoriously bad that even the police won't go into that area.

Reasons for me to remove this are that none of the material is founded with sources. The information is doubtful. That criminality in Memphis is 'mostly committed' there needs to be shown by statistics or a reliable source. The gang related information seems to be more street knowledge than anything else. Even if proven true I have doubts if this is appropriate content for an encyclopedia. Ridiculous: Not even the police go into that area. Untrue statement.

Please do not move the above content back to the article without discussing it here first. Thank you!

Vandalism

[edit]

I have removed similar content as the above from the article today. The content about excessive crime and gang presence is not useful the way it is presented and it hurts the credibility of the article as well as the credibility of Wikipedia.

A certain level of crime, I hate to admit that, can probably be found in any community. The same I assume to be unfortunally true for Gang presence. So a certain level of crime can be assumed for any community and there is no need to mention it. When crime is excessive and gang presence is high in a community, compared to other, similar communities, it might be worth mentioning it.

However, the more extreme the fact in question is, the more it deviates from the average, the more exaggerated the information or the more incredible, the more proof is required to verify that information for the reader.

The deleted information uses superlatives without any proof at all.
