Can we add basises

[edit]

i think it would be a good idea to add links for the real engines the characters were based off of 2601:242:4100:F200:4548:CD46:610F:3A9A (talk) 23:51, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Flynn should be with the Standard Guage Engine between Belle and Den.

Not done: this is not the right page to request additional user rights. You may reopen this request with the specific changes to be made and someone may add them for you, or if you have an account, you can wait until you are autoconfirmed and edit the page yourself. Separate Pages?

[edit]

If the Railway Series has a separate page for a list of characters, shouldn't All Engines Go have it's own? I think it would also create less confusion seeing them jammed together as this page was intended for the actual 1984-2021 television series 67.167.252.25 (talk) 15:32, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since All Engines go is a different show, it maybe best if it did have a separate page, but then again the List of Bob the builder characters are all together as well. Magical Golden Whip (talk) 15:40, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting proposal

[edit]
Considering that the Railway Series has its own list of its characters, and the RWS, T&F, and AEG are all their own thing, it would make logical sense that this article should be split into a new article titled List of Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go characters. Not to mention, AEG will introduce more new characters (most recently with the introduction of the Carriages of Justice), as well as bringing back old characters from the original Thomas & Friends (the most example was the unveiling of the soon-to-be-released Donald in AEG style for the Motorized toy range). Although, being new to Wikipedia editing, I'm not sure how to suggest a split, especially since the splitting proposal message didn't pop up on the top of the article. EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 09:01, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aside from agreeing with everything here, the split notice has to be added manually a user, which I will do now. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 11:46, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not long I've put up the split notice on the main article (which I've finally figured out how to insert it), someone else removed it for some reason. I don't want to start an edit war over it, but does anyone know the reason why it happened? To me, I don't see any reason to remove the split notice, especially since the Railway Series has its own separate article for its character list, and the characters from the original Thomas & Friends and its reboot All Engines Go are compiled into the same article, even though both shows are little alike each other and set in different continuities. EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 07:12, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, it shouldn't have been removed; it's an IP user repeatedly making the same bad faith edit over and over. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 07:34, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
With that said, I've placed the article on my watchlist for one month, and if the unexplained removal of the split notice persisted, we might request for semi-protection for this article, and I will extend my watchlist time to permanent. EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 09:06, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as IP users are still removing the notice without explanation, I'll create a draft of the AEG characters list and you can help add to it. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 10:52, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a link to the draft. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 12:29, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Quality of this article

[edit]

The quality of this article is very poor. The lack of sourcing and the amount of original research is shocking. Most of the content should be moved to the Thomas wikia, the article here is way too long and poorly written. I intend to radically cut back the worst of it, unless other editors can step in and actually improve the article. Thanks, Grachester (talk) 18:38, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong whistles

[edit]

In the 3rd and 4th series music videos, Thomas had a different whistle sound. I like to pretend that was CN #3254s whistle. But in the 5th series music videos onwards, he has his normal whistle. What happened? 2603:7000:6E3B:9266:B41D:11D0:5060:55EE (talk) 13:59, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's never confirmed why this happens, but it's most likely due to not everything being fully established yet, like how it took years for everything in the Super Mario series to look like how it does now. However, I don't think this is noteworthy enough to include on the article; it's just plain trivia. SuperWikiBrother (talk) 16:51, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
