NADPH Production

[edit]

I am pretty sure it is an importance source of NADPH as well... 70.246.224.90 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:51, 14 December 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Yes, this page in Wikipedia says so as well: [[1]] --93.128.42.192 (talk) 18:15, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

The article title is wrong, it should be malic enzyme not malate dehydrogenase. 109.61.21.96 (talk) 02:19, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved to the title "malic enzyme". Manfi (talk) 16:20, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The original title was "Malate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating)", which is correct and unambiguous, if confusing to some. The page was moved to "Malic enzyme", which is ambiguous, and can mean either NAD-malic enzyme (an alternative name for malate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating)) (EC 1.1.1.39), or NADP-malic enzyme (EC 1.1.1.40). I've moved the page to "NAD-malic enzyme". Click on those EC numbers. J G Campbell (talk) 04:17, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating) (EC 1.1.1.38) is yet another malic enzyme. J G Campbell (talk) 07:52, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NAD-malic enzymeMalate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating) – On 25 October 2007, the article page was created with the title "Malate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating)". I believe that this is the best possible title. See EC 1.1.1.39. On 4 December 2011, the page was moved to "Malic enzyme". Unfortunately, malic enzyme is ambiguous. It can refer to malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating) (EC 1.1.1.38) and to malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating) (NADP+) (EC 1.1.1.40), as well as to malate dehydrogenase (oxaloacetate-decarboxylating). On 9 April 2012, I moved "Malic enzyme" to "NAD-malic enzyme", and made "Malic enzyme" into a disambiguation page.

At present, Malate dehydrogenase (decarboxylating) is a redirect to NAD-malic enzyme, and Malic enzyme is a disambiguation page. The details are gruesome. My understanding of moves is limited. I would appreciate help. J G Campbell (talk) 19:06, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
