Article vs. Merge

[edit]

I've posted a few more details but I need to know how much infomation do you need to keep it as an article. We have articles for other game characters and the Metroid series itself is notable in it's own right. NewYorkDreams (talk) 05:33, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was first brought to this page because of a speedy deletion request by Undead warrior. I then ignored your next edits in considering the speedy deletion request because you removed the tag, which you are not permitted to do under the speedy deletion policy. Per WP:CSD: "Any editor who is not the creator of a page may remove a speedy tag from it. The creator may not do this. A creator who disagrees with the speedy deletion should instead add {{hangon}} to the page, and explain the rationale on the page's discussion page." From that, in handling the deletion request, I determined a merge was most beneficial. So my treatment of the merge was mainly in response to the speedy request, as I felt that the article likely met the criteria, but the title was still beneficial. The fact that you removed the tag out of process was the kicker here. You should have placed {{hangon}}, explained, and gone back to work.
Otherwise, I'm done with this article. Metroid doesn't particularly interest me, and I'm not necessarily inclined to contribute to it. You might wish to discuss with participants in the two WikiProjects listed above (Video games and Nintendo) via those projects' talk pages, about getting assistance with the article.
