[edit]- Which 12 years?
If West graduated from University in 1937 and had at least two teaching jobs (presuming at least one year in each post), and left the monastery and got married in 1941, exactly which twelve years did he spend in the monastery? This isn't adding up for me. Could that have been 2 years? Perhaps 12 months?Vanhorn (talk) 10:22, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

The bio of Morris West refers to him as Thomas Gilroy. I have not seen this name in any other bio of West. Is this an error? (Cjanejump 14:18, 11 February 2007 (UTC)) == Morris West, author Shoes of the Fisherman == I recently viewed the film "Shoes of the Fisherman" and was struck by the similarities between Pope Kiril and Pope John Paul II. Yes, I know this is mentioned in the Wiki article (West somewhat prescient?), but I feel his writing deserves additional comments. The discussion and "bearing of souls" between all the major characters, owes much, I take it, to the writing of Morris West. This has given me the desire to read more of Morris West's writings.
