move
[edit]I plan to move this article to Mohammed Irfan. Any objection? IQinn (talk) 02:36, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Please look again, and see that Mohammed Irfan is a disambiguation page. Please understand that when there are TWO Guantanamo captives names Mohammed Irfan it is a bad idea to remove all disambiguation. There are about four dozen Guantanamo captives' names that required disambiguation. Please don't propose moving names that require disambiguation without thinking about how to address that need for disambiguation.
- I changed the article on Mohammed Irfan (Guantanamo captive 101) to a redirection to Pakistani captives in Guantanamo. That doesn't mean the two men don't require disambiguation. Tomorrow a report may be published about "former Guantanamo captive Mohammed Irfan". Removing the disambiguation from the name of this article is an invitation to chaos, as it erases all clues to contributors that they need to be careful to make sure that the information they just read should be added to this article on a Mohammed Irfan. - Mohammed Irfan (Guantanamo captive 1006) is an inappropriate name. We can move this article here to Mohammed Irfan and still have a disambiguation page tor the other articles. There is no problem to do so and it solves the problem with the inappropriate article name. IQinn (talk) 08:52, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Please respond to civil, collegial, specific and substantive responses with civil, collegial, specific and substantive counter-responses. Your response is not collegial, not substantive, and ignores my civil, collegial, specific and substantive responses. Geo Swan (talk) 13:43, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- My respond is civil and collegial. Why do you think it is not? Speaking about specifics and substance. How do you want to solve the problem with the inappropriate article name? Sure i see your argument but both articles clearly state the ISN numbers in the text. I clearly think we can move this article to Mohammed Irfan and get rid of the inappropriate name for a BLP. Captive --> Detainee
[edit]For the sake of consistency and following these three discussions [1] [2] [3] the article should be moved from Mohammed Irfan (Guantanamo captive 1006) to Mohammed Irfan (Guantanamo detainee 1006). IQinn (talk) 23:25, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
