Updating Route 300 (Stockport)
[edit]Stockport bus station has changed recently. Previously there were "blue" (daytime) stands, and "red" (evening, and all day Sunday) stands. This is no longer the case, all stands are now used at all times of day, including Sunday. At the same time, stands G H J and K have been closed off for renovation, and many of the services have been allocated to new stands, even ones that weren't affected by the renovation closure.
The route now returns FROM Tesco at stand C (previously H and T... But will switch to J once refurbishment is complete and G, H, J and K reopen) and then heads off towards to the town hall and train station. On returning to the bus station from the train station, the service TOWARDS Tesco now departs from stand W (Previously P). There is no source where this can be cited, but equally, the current route isn't cited either, so is it that important?
Spelling for Garrick Theatre has also been updated at the same time

November 2018 update
[edit]This page needs updating. I believe the Metroshuttle in Manchester city centre exists no more but has been replaced by the zero-fare service called The Free Bus. The article suggests Metroshuttle ended and was not replaced/rebranded. Likewise I don't know what the situation is in Bolton and Stockport. Stevo1000 (talk) 20:18, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
Renaming
[edit]As the two free buses in Greater Manchester now have different names, I have renamed this page to free buses in Greater Manchester to cover both. I have also started updating the article to reflect the new changes, but still a lot to do.

Merger
[edit]Are the three routes (one of which no longer operates), notable enough for their own pages, when a page for the 3 together already exists? ~~ OxonAlex - talk 10:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
No, bus routes are never notable for their own pages. Go ahead and merge. Cnbrb (talk) 10:19, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support merge. Bus routes generally are not notable enough to have their own article. Ajf773 (talk) 08:38, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 09:52, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not a travel guide
[edit]Just a reminder that per WP:NOTTRAVEL, Wikipedia is not a travel guide. It's good that the timetables have been removed from this article - it still has a lot of detail about bus routes that are not really encyclopedic content, and should be summarised instead.
