[edit]As only a portion, not all, of McDonough(ville) is in modern New Orleans, I think noting it as in "Louisiana" rather than "New Orleans" is more appropriate. -- Infrogmation 00:58, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds fine - I in fact initially had it as McDonogh, Louisiana, but moved it to NO b/c it was listed as McDonogh, New Orleans in the to-do list.--Jackbirdsong 12:20, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Ferry service to New Orleans
[edit]In the 1940s there were two ferries to New Orleans, one from Gretna to Jackson Street and the other from Algiers to Canal Street. As far as I know, neither had a terminal in what once was McDonoghville. If there were others earlier, it would be useful to identify them. Bruin2 (talk) 23:23, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
McDonogh vs. McDonoghville
[edit]Is there a citation for the name McDonogh (referring to the area) rather than McDonoghville? I've lived in this area for over 40 years, and have never heard of it referred to as anything other than McDonoghville. I also can't find it labeled as only McDonogh on any map. Signs at the entrances to the area all say McDonoghville. At a quick glance, I can't find anything listing the boundaries of McDonoghville, but it extends a couple of miles into the City of Gretna in Jefferson Parish. Since Algiers Point begins about 1/2 mile into Orleans Parish, I deduce that the majority of McDonoghville is within Jefferson Parish. strike300 (talk) 21:54, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

Macdonoghville or McDonoghville?
[edit]Is there a reason the article title is "Macdonoghville," with "Mac" instead of "Mc" at the beginning? My understanding has always been that it was McDonoghville, (with an upper case D as well). Thanks. --Muffuletta (talk) 00:52, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- Text and sources all use "McD," not "Macd." I've flipped the article with the redirect. Carter (talk) 16:36, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
