Moved from article until properly referenced

  • Comment - Glad to see you both back and the article is much better - I note comments by other administrator on it not being of a subject that meets wiki's notability guidelines but I am of the feeling now that it might with some more careful writing. One area of immediate concern is the following paragraph which will make any chance of getting this material into the mainspace difficult because it quotes the subject and will be difficult to third party reference - I suggest it is rewritten from a completely neutral point of view
  • Comment- Okay... we are still working on it though!

In his class he teaches not only mathematics but also life's lesson's. These stories and lessons have effected many of his students. He loves teaching and says he learns something new almost every day, one of the reasons why after retiring he came back to teach. He encourages everyone to work hard, never give up, and get to their maximum potential. He himself always strives to do the best that he can possibly can. Among the people that know him is is often known as "The Great One".

How is this... along with some referencing...

In his class he teaches not only mathematics but also life's lesson's. As some of his students have noted these stories and lessons have effected many of their lives.{ref} He says he loves to teach and that he learns something new almost every day, one of the reasons why after retiring he came back to teach. He encourages everyone to work hard, never give up, and get to their maximum potential. Others have noted himself always strives to do the best that he can possibly can.{ref} Among the people that know him is is often known as "The Great One". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amelchenko (talkcontribs) 22:52, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Better, much but it still reads like wp:fancruft and others will pick you up on it or bring it back to AfD. Try and think like an encyclopaedia writer - we want to say everything that you are saying but not sound like we are his brother in law or one of his adoring students, else it looks like the two of you are writing against the policy of conflict of interest. However keep going. Make it neutral and encyclopaedic throughout.--VS talk 23:00, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great One? I'd rather see his accomplishments than embellishments to be honest

~A Rao

I am removing the entire last paragraph which reads:

"In his class he teaches not only mathematics but also life's lesson's. As some of his students have noted these stories and lessons have affected many of their lives. He says he loves to teach and that he learns something new almost every day, one of the reasons why after retiring he came back to teach. He encourages everyone to work hard, never give up, and get to their maximum potential. Others have noted that he always strives to do the best that he possibly can."

This paragraph contains no information that should be included in an encyclopedia. It contains heavy POV and because of the nature of the paragraph it is impossible to rewrite in a way that would be non-POV. Although the entire paragraph is cited, the references are invalid because they do not comply with WP:VER. The cited newspaper article is reflective of personal opinions, is promotional in nature and as a result is not a source that can be cited on wikipedia.Rcurtis5 (talk) 00:11, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Amelchenko,

Here is what you have to do to tell Wikipedia about permission for the images:

If the copyright holder agrees to release the image under a free license such as the GFDL, please forward that letter to "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org". This ensures that the Wikipedia Foundation has a record of the license in case questions should arise at a later time.
Please clearly indicate in the summary below:
  1. The original source of the image, including the copyright holder's name and, if applicable, the URL where you downloaded the image
  2. A statement about your discussion with the copyright holder telling under what license he or she agreed to release the image

You can find these instructions and more information at the Wikipedia Upload page.

When you properly provide Wikipedia with licensing information, you may put the photos back in the article. Until that time, you must not.
