potential original research regarding use and edibility

the claim that the plant's leaves can be used as vegetables despite it tasting unfavorable has been unsupported by citation since the article was created, and seems to have copied from the article Marah fabacea in 2006. This claim is at least present in the articles on Marah macrocarpa, Marah fabacea, and Marah watsonii

The user that created this page (see this version and this version) notes the edit to be "basic facts from Jepson Manual and personal observation", but i couldn't manage to find anything about edibility on the Jepson Manual. This was then copied word for word onto the macrocarpa article here and the watsonii article here two years later after the fabacea article was written
