Changes
[edit]"Shabazz began attacking his mother". I'm somewhat concerned about this phrase. According to other sources, the two simply "fought". Do you have an exact quote from source to confirm this? Gatoclass (talk) 09:30, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- I changed the sentence to "Shabazz and his mother began to fight, sometimes physically". It's more or less a quote from the 2003 NYT ref and is more balanced per BLP. Gatoclass (talk) 10:49, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, "Shabazz had always been a troubled child". At best, this is an opinion that needs to be attributed. Gatoclass (talk) 09:56, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- I changed it to "evidence of disturbance as a child" which is less judgemental. Gatoclass (talk) 10:49, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I've pretty much finished my changes at this point. Gatoclass (talk) 10:55, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your improvements to the article. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 17:32, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Daughters
[edit]We have multiple reliable sources noting Shabazz's two daughters, including the original one and the Huffington Post source I have just added. I suggest editors with an obvious interest in editing this article (see WP:COI, in case it applies) stop expressing WP:OWNership behavior, and accept that the article will be written from objective sources and a neutral POV. μηδείς (talk) 02:35, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- The Huffington Post article acknowledges that it's using the Amsterdam News as its source. Where are the "multiple reliable sources"?
- And where is the COI or the non-neutral POV? — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:45, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- The Huffpo article credits news of the death to the Amsterdam News, nothing else. I don't think it's necessary to escalate beyond that at this point. μηδείς (talk) 03:09, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
