Track list

[edit]

Below is the track list as it appears in the credits of the Madonna: The MDNA Tour concert special on EPIX:

  • "Virgin Mary" (Intro)
  • "Girl Gone Wild"
  • "Revolver"
  • "Gang Bang"
  • "Papa Don't Preach"
  • "Hung Up"
  • "I Don't Give A"
  • "Best Friend" (video interlude)
  • "Express Yourself"
  • "Give Me All Your Luvin'"
  • "Radio Dial Static" (video interlude)
  • "Turn Up the Radio"
  • "Open Your Heart"
  • "Masterpiece"
  • "Justify My Love" (video interlude)
  • "Vogue"
  • "Erotic Candy Shop"
  • "Human Nature"
  • "Like a Vigin Waltz"
  • "Love Spent"
  • "Like a Virgin Waltz" (outro to "Love Spent")
  • "Nobody Knows Me" (video interlude)
  • "I'm Addicted"
  • "I'm a Sinner"
  • "De Trevilles-n azken hitzak" (intro to "Like a Prayer")
  • "Like a Prayer"
  • "Celebration"

However, a photo posted by Madonna on Instagram several weeks ago indicates that "Papa Don't Preach" and "Hung Up" are combined in one chapter on the DVD and the Blu-Ray. So are "Like a Virgin Waltz" and "Love Spent" - possibly also "De Trevilles-n azken hitzak" and "Like a Prayer".

Ultimately, I think the track list section should be removed from the article until we know it for sure. MsigDK (talk) 19:51, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. Yes I do agree the track list section should be removed until the official DVD track list is revealed. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 04:08, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Release pushed back?

[edit]

According to fansite MadonnaTribe.com[1], the release of the MDNA Tour has been pushed back to September due to production delays. MadonnaTribe.com is fairly reliable, though it doesn't qualify as a reliable source in Wikipedia terms, as far as I know. MsigDK (talk) 15:40, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Number of live video albums

[edit]

Hi, Just to clarify the number of live video albums which is 10

  1. Madonna Live: The Virgin Tour
  2. Who's That Girl: Live in Japan (Japanese release only)
  3. Ciao Italia: Live from Italy
  4. Blond Ambition Japan Tour 90 (Japanese release only)
  5. Blond Ambition World Tour Live
  6. The Girlie Show: Live Down Under
  7. Drowned World Tour 2001
  8. The Confessions Tour (categorized as a live album but also a live video album)
  9. Sticky & Sweet Tour (categorized as a live album but also a live video album)

Truth or Dare and I'm Going to Tell You a Secret are not live video albums as they are documentary films, but the latter is also classed a live album as it included a CD of highlights from the tour. If MDNA Tour is released on CD as well as DVD/Blu-ray it should most likely be moved to a live album category and the intro will read "fourth live album" instead of live video album. I know its a bit confusing but I hope this clears this up. Thanks jwad.... blah | blah | blah 07:17, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

about the album name.

[edit]

the album cover says that the video is called "MDNA World Tour". shouldn't every reference to it on this article call it that way? I mean, the article name, and the infobox. --Mr00Mister (talk) 21:13, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Correcting now. — Status (talk · contribs) 02:36, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative cover.

[edit]

Hello,

I was wondering if you were going to add the alternative cover of the MDNA tour DVD? the one that is shown on the DVD + 2CD edition.

it can be found on any Amazon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelowen252598 (talkcontribs) 11:05, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, no it won't be added. The cover is not significantly different and fails Wikipedia's policy on WP:NFCC. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:49, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Born this Way" sample

[edit]

I know that the use of "Born this Way" is not credited for the "Express Yourself" song but perhaps we should add it with "uncredited" between brackets. Amzer (talk) 15:33, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm maybe we can. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 16:49, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Charts

[edit]

I'm going to post Israeli charts positions for the dvd and the album, i have the source, so PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE IT. Gabriele Petrocchi 16:17, 15 september 2013

No that placement is for the parent album MDNA, not for the tour CD-DVD. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 11:10, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Brazilian Charts

[edit]

hot100brasil.com is the most reliable source for brazilian charts, there's no other source on the net for them, so DO NOT REMOVE IT.Gabriele Petrocchi 20:31, 19 september 2013

No, it is Billboard Brasil. hot100brasil.com is an unreliable source. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 23:24, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Credits for "Papa Don't Preach" and "Justify My Love"

[edit]

I'm kind of bugged concerning the credits for "Papa Don't Preach" and "Justify My Love": when you look at True Blue and The Immaculate Collection's liner notes, Madonna is credited as contributing only "additional lyrics" to both songs. However, she's not credited for "Papa" and considered as a "full" writer for "Justify" in MDNA World Tour. Should we use the original credits or let the current ones? Amzer (talk) 18:09, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Publisher for periodicals

[edit]

Guidelines for the {{cite}} templates say that publisher is "not normally used for periodicals". This is because it's no help to anyone checking a reference. For example, it's not useful to anyone to be told that Billboard is (currently) published by Prometheus Global Media, or that the New York Times is published by the New York Times Company. This superfluous and repetitive information was recently removed from the {{Album chart}} template without any objections, and was removed from the {{Singlechart}} template over a year ago, following a period allowed for discussion and without a single subsequent complaint. My removal of that "useless clutter", as another editor described it, from this article (along with many other unrelated improvements) has been aggressively reverted by User:IndianBio. There is clearly consensus that no-one has any interest in keeping it. I therefore propose to reinstate my changes. Colonies Chris (talk) 14:30, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colonies Chris, this one time changes are really not the way. This has to be done across all the articles in Wikipedia, and not just nitpicking on choosy articles. We can propose a bot, maybe Cyberbot, and we can list all the periodicals which has publisher associated with them. Another issue I have with your edit is using the website parameter, which italicizes a website name. I believe in this case we need a change in the template itself to keep the website name as it is, not to italicize it. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 14:42, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(1) There is no consistency in this matter between or even within articles. Some have publisher, some don't; some references specify publisher, some don't. I'd be delighted to see a bot fix them all, but that's not a reason to obstruct action on any specific article.
(2) In a discussion quite a while ago (I can't find a link just now), it was agreed that italicising websites was the right thing to do (see, for example, Template:Cite_web/doc#Examples). This came as news to me, and probably to most editors, but it is definitely intentional; probably Help_talk:Citation_Style_1 is the right place to raise the question.
