- History section of main Loughton page to be drastically edited - please leave this page as it will in future be the main page for detailed info about Loughton history

Why?

[edit]

Interesting place, but... what's the logic behind this entry? I mean, no other comparable place in the world (as far as I have seen) has a separate entry on its history. It clearly belongs in the entry "Loughton". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.77.19.154 (talk) 23:56, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There were several attempts to delete the history section in the main Loughton entry and eventually a suggestion was made to create a separate page and then drastically edit the main page section so that it is just a summary of the History page. So the history page has been creatyed, but no-one has yet edited the maid page down to size. Incidentally, many towns have a separate history page, including Colchester in Essex. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.194.86.1 (talk) 10:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have tidied up the references and tried to write a proper introduction to this page - I'll have a go at summarising the section in the main Loughton article so there's no duplication between the two articles. Richard3120 (talk) 16:26, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
