Last appearance
[edit]Since this seems to have gone back and forth a few times, I would like to register that I agree with User:The Optimistic One removing reference to Deadpool 2 from the "last appearance" parameter of the infobox. The last appearance of the film series character is unequivocally in Logan. BD2412 T 00:04, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- I agree as well. El Millo (talk) 01:33, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- I have added a note specifying that. BD2412 T 02:10, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- Glad we're on the same board. He doesn't even physically appear in Deadpool 2 so there's no point having two. The Optimistic One (talk) 12:52, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- I assume that the IPs who keep adding it back are referring to the archival footage in the post-credits scene, which should not be considered a "new" appearance. BD2412 T 16:08, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Charles Xavier (film character) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 08:22, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Future section
[edit]According to Deadline in this article here Taron Edgerton has apparently been meeting with Marvel Studios executives about taking in the role of Wolverine. Maybe that should be put in the future section? 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 15:01, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- WP:NYA doesn't exactly cover the situation, but it still seems too soon to include something that's still in the rumors and speculation stage. Once there's an official announcement about who'll play Wolverine in future films then it should be included. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 16:01, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- I tried discussing this in the Wolverine in other media page in the film section but no one replied back. And besides the actor said himself that he’s been in discussion. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 17:46, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Even so, it seems unnecessary to include at this point in time to me, unless its part of a broader discussion of recasting Jackman. Other actors (Pablo Schreiber is one who turned up in a quick search) have said they've had discussions about the role too. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 18:07, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- I don’t know why I bother with any of this as soon as I find something that may be reliable and worth noting I find out it’s meaningless and end up demoralized. Everything I do even if I try to follow the rules is just wrong. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 19:03, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Don't feel discouraged. Wikipedia's not a newspaper and we don't have to rush to get something added at the first available opportunity. In this case, adding something about who is being considered as a replacement for Jackman could be worth including, but if it is added, it should be done in a way that is more encyclopedic than "Actors A, B, and C have discussed with Marvel Studios being a possible successor to Jackman." Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 19:47, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

I can't go for that ...
[edit]"After helping stop Magneto's plan, Logan is directed by Professor X to an abandoned military base around Alkali Lake that might contain information about his past, taking Cyclops' motorcycle. Image file
[edit]Wikipedia's WP:FREER policy states that fair use images should not be used when a free (meaning public domain or Creative Commons) alternative is available. In this case, Marvel released the trailer for The Wolverine under a creative Commons license, which means that we do have a free image. I will WP:BOLDly replace the fair use image with the free one. Please do not add back the fair use one per Wikipedia policy. Di (they-them) (talk) 16:21, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- For the record, I continue to find this fishy, as I noted previously in edit summaries and at WT:MOSFILM#Trailers. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:03, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- The trailer itself is not being used in the article, it is an image of the character. Di (they-them) (talk) 04:18, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Dog tags

"Longest career as a live-action Marvel character"
[edit]I understand the instinct to give the title back to Jackman now that he's reprised the roll, but shouldn't that belong to Wesley Snipes as Eric Brooks/Blade? Snipes first appeared as the character in 1998, while Jackman first appeared in 2000, and now both are appearing in the same movie. Sure, Jackman has appeared in more movies, but that's not the record. 2601:18E:C47F:5840:F52E:C1D7:4C30:45C3 (talk) 04:56, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- The Guinness World Records page for that record (here) and an article about this very thing (here) supports that Snipes surpassed Jackman. These can be added into the article. Trailblazer101 (talk) 05:08, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
