Why only top 30?

[edit]

ACI top 50 airports for 2008 and 2009 are available here: http://atwonline.com/world-airline-report-data Should we expand the ranking to include No. 31-50?

Response to "Change 50th place"

[edit]

Dear All,

With all due respect to your response (using only ACI source), it is strange you say this as also most of the 30th to 50th airport number sources are taken from internal data sources of respective airports (including FCO Airport), which is totally fine to me but I don't get why then Narita airport source is not considered then. I see this as really unfair. Until today I considered this page as truly reliable, but it's clear it is not the case anymore and will follow other sources.

Greater China

[edit]

There is a summary on the page referring to how many airports each country has on the list. There is no benefit whatsoever to refer to China as "Greater China", as no airports outside of mainland China are included. This feels like a political statement. The respective airports listed are also listed by "China", not by "Greater China". Please update. 109.68.89.183 (talk) 09:01, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. This was an unintentional holdover from when airports from Hong Kong and Taiwan were on the list Ostealthy (talk) 21:28, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Incheon Airport

[edit]

In the rangking from 2020 to 2022, the Airport of Incheon (ICN), South Korea is missing. The years before it always placed around the top 20 Is that a mistake or aren't any data avilalible? 37.46.144.10 (talk) 15:54, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It simply fell out of the top ranks due to the covid regulations in East Asia. According to its own statistics (https://www.airport.kr/co/en/cpr/statisticCategoryOfDay.do) it had 71.2 million passengers in 2019, 12 million in 2020, 3.2 million in 2021 and recovered to 17.9 million in 2022. Not yet enough for the top 50 94.216.68.58 (talk) 07:16, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2022 statistics and data

[edit]

The whole ranking doesn't have a unified source, the individual numbers are also not cited. Moreover, several key airports are missing from the list and the list is clearly non-factual and not based on any proper report published by major source. Hence, it can be deemed as a false and misleading content. Hypersonic man 11 (talk) 14:44, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The complete absence of China from the 2022 list is obviously pretty dubious, too. ACI's figures are supposed to be used as the source for the final ranking, but it looks like none of the lists on this page since 2019 reflect that. Erp Erpington (talk) 19:39, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had a look at the ACI figures for 2022 and although I did not compare every line I could not see any major differences to the list presented here. I concur that the source (https://www.panynj.gov/content/dam/airports/statistics/statistics-general-info/annual-atr/ATR_2022.pdf, page 40) needs to be cited. As the list is apparently a copy why would you want a citation on every line?
As to the omission of China: it suffered a severe setback in its air traffic due to the rigid covid measures enforced. Guangzhou airport, number 1 in 2020 with 43.8 million passengers, ranked 8th in 2021 with 40.2 million passengers and can be found at rank number 58 in last year's ACI list with 26.1 million passengers. 94.216.68.58 (talk) 07:07, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
