Notes

[edit]

Can we have some discussion about deletion even if the tag is removed?

Is there any reason not to remove a page that substantially replicates an auto-generated page? Lawdroid (talk) 22:22, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not attached to this page; its content was spun off from Pizzeria. However, WP:PROD tags must not be reinserted if removed. Any such discussion should take place at WP:AFD.  Sandstein  22:37, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, cool. Lawdroid (talk) 23:02, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removal

[edit]

I vote to remove this page. google is the place to look up a pizza restaurant and this article is less than complete. If it was based on some varifiable source like top 50 restaurant chains by turnover I can see the point. As it it it serves no purpose as a reference resource in WP 80.169.223.130 (talk) 12:36, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's the criteria for what's included and what's not?

[edit]

I notice Jets isn't on the list, yet Happys is. Jets is a much bigger chain than Happys, neither is really a "national" chain, so why one included and not the other.76.226.119.1 (talk) 06:08, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The criteria is on the edit page in the form of an edit notice. Here is a copy:

When adding new chains to this template, please follow these guidelines:

  • Please do not add chains that have less than a hundred or so locations.
  • You should only include chains that are national or are in a sizable region of a country. For example, if a chain has only a few locations in a single U.S. state, it should not be included.
  • Please only include chains that have an article on Wikipedia, do not add red links or external links.

Not all Pizzerias are members of a chain

[edit]

"Pizzeria" re-directs here to "List of pizza chains". This is not the same thing. I was expecting an article on Pizzerias as a type of restaurant.

Pizzerias are not all members of a chain, I suspect this is a North American phenomenan. In Europe, and especially in Italy, they are mostly individual restaurants run by the owner. The chains are regarded by many as "Inferior" to a proper Italian pizzeria. TiffaF (talk) 10:53, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
