Pope's image

[edit]

John Paul II was the first and, to this day, the only Pope to visit Armenia, the first country to recognize Christianity as state religion in 301. Don't you think that's quite of a historic event? His visit to Tsitsernakaberd had a great reaction around the world. I think after all this, the image deserves to be there, first because it is the subject of a controversy, second it depicts a signification historic event. --Երևանցի talk 02:17, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The image is not the subject of controversy. Depicting a significant historical event is not an adequate justification for inserting a nonfree image. What does the image convey that the text cannot? Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 02:23, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It shows the historical visit of a notable religious figure and the act which burst controversy. Also, it gives the reader idea what kind of a ceremony is usually held at the memorial.--Երևանցի talk 02:31, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In other words, nothing beyond what is conveyed by the text. Obvious NFCC failure. None of what you say relates to our actual NFCC requirements. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 06:22, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And can you please explain how Jennifer Lopez's photo on thr cover of People in Public image section pass the NFCC requirements?--Երևանցի talk 16:39, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's another obvious NFCC failure, it's been in the article about a minute and a half, and you should have removed it yourself rather than trying to use it to justify another violation! Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 19:19, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not justifying anything. I just wanna clarify in what cases non free images can be used. I don't seem to get the idea. Almost all non-free images I've seen are much useless that this image of John Paul II. Can we engage more people in this? --Երևանցի talk 19:33, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Osman baydemir

[edit]

When he visited there in September 2014, Osman Baydemir wasn't mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. So, he can not take place there!

Not a valid excuse. I am giving you a final warning. Check your own talk page. --92slim (talk) 14:45, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability???

[edit]

Can someone please explain how this list is notable? This strikes me as failing WP:NOT. That a particular person visited can be verified with secondary sources, but the subject as whole does not appear to be notable. The monument, yeah, but people visiting this monument as a notable subject itself? I'm sorry, I'm not seeing it. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:33, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
