Although the French regulars are not nearly as storied as the Leigon...or even the French Navy, having been reorganized so frequently, but they much surely have a motto or at least the famous non-leigon regiments must, particularly the Chasseurs Alpine (Mountain Regiment) and the Republican Guards. If anyone speaks better French than mine (novice, almost to the point of non-existent), perhaps you can find out... Cheers V. Joe 15:54, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Norwegian mottoes

[edit]

The Artillery Batallions motto is "Gjør ræt - Frykt ingen!". Source: http://www.dinesider.no/customer/002956/archive/files/befalsbladet/2005/befalsbladet_05051.pdf - page 33

The Armored Battalions motto is the Old Norse words "Bitit fyrst" which means "Strike first", it is NOT the Norwegian "Bit først" = "Bite first". Source: http://www.mil.no/haren/styrker/pbn/start/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.194.209.42 (talk) 03:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
