potency

[edit]

The column labeled Homeopathic potency and the entire section about Notes on potencies should be deleted. All unsourced claims should also be speedily removed. If there are no objections I'll attend to this. --mikeu talk 00:42, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --mikeu talk 20:35, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

sources, notability, and inclusion criteria

[edit]

It appears that researchers affiliated with NHM made a great effort to compile a database of botanicals used in homeopathy. It no longer exists on their website. The description of the database is archived but not the contents. This makes it difficult to verify the footnotes. They also published in a periodical and a book that describes some 800 species and 1700 names. I'm not quite sure why they did this, but here are the refs. I hardly think that adding 800 plants and fungi are a worthwhile effort.

  • Bharatan, V; Humphries, CJ (July 2002). "Plant names in homeopathy: an annotated checklist of currently accepted names in common use". Homeopathy. 91 (3): 156–161. doi:10.1054/homp.2002.0027.

There should be a well defined criteria for inclusion in the list and what is considered an RS on this topic.[1] --mikeu talk 17:48, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

massive cleanup

[edit]

I've purged all the entries that were unreferenced. Feel free to restore an entry if you can find a reliable source showing that it is commonly used today per the note at top. To recover removed material see this diff. --mikeu talk 19:44, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged homeopathic use

[edit]

I've removed most of the usage column due to lack of references. This is especially troubling per WP:MEDICAL despite the disclaimer in the heading. If there are any items that can be properly sourced the material can be recovered from this diff. --mikeu talk 20:08, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure about what to do

[edit]

I found the following commented out in the page. Placing here for reference. --mikeu talk 20:14, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure about what to do with these. Will find sources showing they're common instead.
