@Epikourios Alitheia, It may be a bit too general.
  • The composition of the Order overall is covered under Franciscans, which has a section on the Third Order. Removing all the congregations, leaves little left in the Third Order of Saint Francis article; however, I would like to see it retained as it's somewhat complementary to Third Order of Saint Dominic. I would suggest trimming the franciscan third order sections in both the Franciscan and Third Order articles and moving most of the relevant information to Third Order of Saint Francis so that most of it is one place.
  • Also, the European congregations did not experience the same rapid growth and expansion triggered by massive immigration, except to the extent that some of them emigated as well. I trust I've made myself obscure. Manannan67 (talk) 23:31, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Manannan67 -- Looking at Third Order there does seem to be an undue amount of information in the Franciscan section, as well as in Franciscans for the Third Order section. Should we propose section moves to Third Order of Saint Francis in order to give that article centrality?
Also, as mainly a copyeditor, I don't have the knowledge of how the article should be best ordered to respond to the unique circumstances that each congregation was established (by original motherhouse location? by where they now work? what of those with provincial motherhouses?) I'm most definitely open to you editing the structure of the draft to what makes most sense, so I can see what makes sense and is most useful for readers. I will commence moving some of the lengthy Franciscan material from the generic Third Order article to Third Order of Saint Francis. (Some of the information is a bit redundant.) The link to Main is already there. This should make the former a bit more readable. Manannan67 (talk) 03:11, 21 May 2022 (UTC) Comparing Heckmann and Lafort I found references and locations for most of the communities listed under Worldwide, and moved them to the appropriate state. In a few instances this involved backtracking through the hospitals they founded, but is, I think, overall a bit clearer. Manannan67 (talk) 05:06, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Manannan, I’m going to start by saying I’m in between two wikibreaks—my next one is lengthier and will probably not allow me to edit until August. That being said, the article seems to have grown quite a bit! The article Third Order has been nicely rebalanced, and so has Third Order of Saint Francis. My largest concern with the current draft is that the Congregations sorted by founder section doesn’t work that well— for example, on Pamfilo of Magliano’s page it says he only founded two congregations, but here we have six or seven—a few directly saying that they were founded by someone else! I consider you the resident expert and leave that in your hands.
P.S. Some of the “blurbs” for individual congregations read like ledes and head paragraphs—perhaps creating stubs so all are linked? Then each congregation would be due 1-2 sentences (founding and current ministries?) (maybe a third for larger ones with connected congregations?) but also have a dedicated article…in my limited time I will try and AfC a few. Epikourios Alitheia talk 19:59, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have checked the various congregations to confirm if they still exist, were disbanded, or merged. While Pamfilio founded the Allegany and Joliet Franciscans, the others listed were communities that later developed from these two. However, I have moved them all to the Locations listing. Where a current article exists for a particular group, I have trimmed the entry here as it's linked to the Main. They could probably be trimmed further. I think the title should include "in the United States". Manannan67 (talk) 05:51, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
