The future of this page

[edit]

This page was recently nominated for deletion. Although, the result was delete, the risk is this page may be re-nominated at any time. This is due to a number of reasons:

  • It is a stub.
  • It contains very little information.
  • Despite the page existing for a few years, relatively few edits have been made, by only a few editors. This shows how the page's subject could possibly hinder the page's viability.

Therefore, to keep this page, more must be added in the future. It may be necessary to get an expert on the topic in to give the page a boost.

Hopefully the page will be developed rather than deleted. The above issues must be rectified to secure the pages future.

Good luck.

NB: During the discussion, a proposal for a "Speedy Delete" came up. This could happen again, so the sooner the page is developed the better!

afD

[edit]

I was asked for an opinion. Since I did not happen to participate in the AfD, you can think of it as an outside opinion. As you will see from the link , the result of the AfD was "keep", not delete. The !vote was 5 to 1, and the only person urging for deletion was the nominator. (who was also the person who made the suggestion of speedy, which was soundly rebuffed. ) At AfD, all political parties having more than minute participation and some sort of sourcing have almost always been held notable. In this case, it won as much as 5% of the vote, & that result is documented, so it is notable beyond much doubt, (There is nothing to keep it from being nominated again, however unlikely a different result might be).

It's the subject, not the page, which has to be notable, and there is no rule against keeping a stub indefinitely until someone comes around who wants to work on it. Obviously, it is much better that it be worked on, and suggestions were made at the Afd for where to find information, such as asking at the page for WP:WikiProject Albania As was pointed out at the AfD, there are language problems that make it relatively difficult for those without a knowledge of the language, such as myself, and there will be relative few sources in the English language because of the small size of the country. But that's not a problem at WP: we cover the world (when we can). best wishes for a better page! DGG 22:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was likewise asked for an opinion, and I'm boggled at the concept. I don't blame the nominator for filing an AfD given the pathetic state of the article at the time - although I endorse the comments in that discussion that Googling "Liberal Union Party" + "Albania" turned up a number of useful links. That being said, there is zero profit now in contesting the article, and it is plainly of a notable subject.  Ravenswing  06:46, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
