Mad House Tour?
[edit]It was brought up at Template:Rihanna that the name of the tour is not yet confirmed, and indeed after a search at her official websites and news outlets I couldn't find confirmation. I've thus moved the article to a generic name, and will change it accordingly in a minute.
If anyone does know a confirmed tour name and has a reliable source to back it up, feel free to undo this.

- Please ... This article is pure speculation. The sources are the most unreliable, as RihannanoBrasil etc.. In addition, the concert of November 16 is not part of the tour was just a promotional concert. Even Wikipedia Lusophone saw it, it just continues with his eyes closed. Understand one thing once, the tour has no official name and only a few start dates. Vitorvicentevalente (talk) 19:25, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- On the UK TV advets for the tour it states its called the 'Rated R Tour'. Wneedham02 (talk) 15:33, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- On her official website only reveals the dates. There is no official information from the singer herself or the label. Vitorvicentevalente (talk) 22:56, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
rihanna has recently stated that this tour is going to be a 'rockstar' tour so i therefore think that it iwll be call mad house or rockstar, but she has not released any deatails due to the fact that she is currently in reharsals and things can change, but in magasines the tickets are advertised as 'rate r tour' so until she releases confirmation for the name of her tour it shall remain ellusive .... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Antere69 (talk • contribs) 18:51, 9 February 2010 (UTC) She is going to be supported by Pixie Lott. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.28.195.219 (talk) 21:48, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Hospital incident
[edit]I'm not going to remove the hospital incident yet, but surely it would be in Rihanna's main articles, and not the tour article, right??X Jagoperson (talk) 16:45, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, agreed on both counts. It'll eventually die off and we can remove the carcass then. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 01:00, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah but maybe it should be mentioned on her main article do you think?x Jagoperson (talk) 15:57, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- We could wait a few shows and see if it develops into a chronic problem. How did she injure her rib? Partying after the show? Maybe [brace yourself for a tasteless remark] she's just got a new boyfriend. Eww.
- Actually, if it's just a one-time minor almost-injury, it doesn't need to be mentioned in Rihanna at all. It could just eventually shrivel up into smaller and smaller mentions here in the tour article until it disappears entirely. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 16:11, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- Okay the I'll wait and see how it develops. I think it needs a small mention somewhere though becuase she was on the front page of all the UK and USA tabloids for the incident. But yeah you are probably right - it will die out soon. We will wait and see x Jagoperson (talk) 20:37, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Copy-and-pasted Reception section
[edit]The Reception section in the article that was recently added (repeatedly) and which I've been removing (repeatedly) consists of one entire five-paragraph review from This is London, an entire four-paragraph review from the Daily Mirror, a single lead-in sentence and a photo that has nothing to do with critical reception.
Using this much copyrighted text, lazily copied and pasted into our article, is a clear and blatant violation of copyrights of This is London and the Mirror. We claim to be licensing the content of the article for others' use, but stealing it like this means that it's not ours to license.
Now, if somebody finds the parts of those two articles that summarize the reviewers' opinions, with a minimum of relevant quoting, properly labelled as such, then I think we can use those excerpts under the fair use provisions of copyright law. But copied and pasted, as they have been (the first time it included the "more after this advertisement" from the original), it's clearly unusable and I feel obligated to revert its irresponsible addition to the WP article.
The pasted material doesn't even make much sense. Captions and heading have been pasted in as if they were part of the review text. We're not even discerning plagiarists. Please don't paste this crap back into the article.
The picture can stay (somewhere); it's just been suffering collateral damage in the reversions. The lead-in sentence is okay, too, copyright-wise, but then it'd need a citation. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 22:09, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- I had no idea that this was copyright violation!! I am sorry for that, but could I ask that you add a new Reception section, which is appropriate for Wikipedia. Most tour articles do have Reception and Tour synopsis sections, and I have been trying to add them to Last Girl on Earth Tour, but even though they are sourced, they still get deleted!!Please help me out x Jagoperson (talk) 05:55, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. In future, you might study the edit summary provided before you revert somebody's revision. The summary for my revison which you reverted said, "Rv addition, again, of entire "Reception" section consisting of multi-paragraph reviews copied in their entirety, VERBATIM, from two sites. See WP:COPYVIO." That should have been clear enough. Or how could I have made it clearer for you?
- I will leave it to you and others to find appropriate reviews. Of course, the tour has barely begun, so I don't think we need to hurry. There certainly isn't a reception to the entire tour yet. She's just now getting to the UK, and is many weeks away from North America, and those places will yield the most abundant articles in English for us to use (pending Australian dates). Remember, we're not in a hurry, here. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 13:05, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Madison Square Garden June 25 date (again)
[edit]/* Tour dates */ i haven't make a change... Rihanna will perform in June 25, on the Madison Square Garden.. i just want to say that sometimes people check wikipedia to know when they can buy a ticket, or to know when the Concert will take place... in 2009 i went to a Rihanna's concert... just because i saw the date on wikipedia.. if i wouldn't seeing this page.. i never get the info.. so.. i wouldn't know that she will perform in my city... so put the date.. so the people that visit Wikipedia can now see new dates... Check here if u don't believe this.. http://nowplaying.nokia.com/blog/2010/04/rihanna-promo/ Is a oficcial anounce from the oficial page of NOKIA... so please.. put the June 25 date...Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.167.27.254 (talk) 01:25, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- That one page from Nokia seems to show that the June 25 date at MSG is real.[1]. However, that page from April 27 is in conflict with another page at the Nokia site, http://nowplaying.nokia.com/blog/2010/04/tour-tracker/ from as recently as April 8, which does not include that show. Also, it appears to be true that MSG has something else planned for that evening, and is selling tickets to (only) Maxwell & Jill Scott.
- My search on Google has failed to find any coverage of a June 25 show at MSG except for that one Nokia page. I think we should wait a little while longer before adding it again.

Set list sourcing and reliability
[edit]We have had set lists here for months. They were added hurriedly and repeatedly, usually without any citation at all, generally without a reliable source even when there was a citation. It appeared that every person who added a list knew for certain that it was the exact set list, even though the next set list added was different, and equally wrong, while the editor was equally certain of its veracity.
Now (up until a couple of moments ago when I boldly removed it), we've had a list of songs which purport to be the list of songs Rihanna's performing. I have removed it now, emboldened by Jagoperson's recent removal of the set lists of opening acts Lott and Tempah, by reason of their lack of references. The fact is that Rihanna's list, too, is unreferenced, and just as liable to be removed.
What I want to point out here is that the whole section (and if I may respectfully say so, our handling of it) is silly. We act as though this is the exact list of songs that Rihanna will perform, in the exact order, for every show of her 60-some dates. We based it on the list reported from the tour's second show, Arnhem. However, we have also seen that some shows have been different, since for example, "Photographs" was cut from UK and France shows, and "Wonderwall" was added to the Zurich show.
If we do have a set list in this article, it should be referenced with at least one reliable source (a newspaper, please, not setlist.fm), and it should have some text indicating that it is the set list from one particular show (we'll say which one, based on our source(s), which might report identical lists for multiple shows), and that it may match other shows, but won't necessarily.
Take a look at the section lead-in we had here as an example of what I think our minimum should be, if we decide we want a set list at all. I'll let others re-add the set list, with or without the video interludes, medleys and encores being listed, as they see fit (supported by sources, though, please). Further discussion here is, of course, welcomed. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 23:10, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'm totally in disagree, if u put the first setlist from the show in arnhem you should let it.. i don't like this page without the setlist... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.167.22.71 (talk) 00:05, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't understand what you're trying to say. I understand you think a set list is desirable, but what about my other points? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 03:14, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- The article pertains to a concert tour thus what is the main component of a concert tour--the setlist! Performing songs is the main reason for going on tour. Thus, its virtually idotic to create a page pertaining to a concert tour without mentioning a setlist. I understand some of you want to uphold Wikipedia's values but some leniency is needed here. I have reverted the article to include the last known edit of a reliable setlist. If there are any known changes to the sourced list, then notated it in the additional notes section. If the setlist was vastly different, then we can create another sourced setlist and notate the region it was used for. It has been done countless times with concert tour articles on Wikipedia. Itsbydesign (talk) 05:43, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I like what you've done. I have added a lead-in note upon which we can neatly hang our reference citations. If, say, the North American leg is significantly different, we can add another set list lower down and change the lead-in notes as appropriate.
- I see that somebody has removed the notes for the "Wonderwall" and "Photographs" exceptions, which is too bad, but I don't remember if they were sourced anyway. With the lead-in as it is now, we don't have to worry about a little exception here and there; I think it's that flexibility you were talking about.
- Anybody have a source for the recently added "Festival set list"? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 19:51, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Tour Box Office numbers.
[edit]I think we still can keep the box office numbers because some people can´t check the source ( Billboard.biz) because they don't have an account on Billboard. Billboard.biz it is the source that it is been used in almost all the Box office numbers in Wikipedia. If someone remove the rest of the box office because they can't check the source we should do the same with London numbers because the source only says that it was sold out and nothing else. Something else, when the press talk about sold out shows it doesn´t mean that was 100% sold out, a 93% show sold it is consider a sold out show too. Sorry for my english.Albes29 (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Australia leg

Venue place names
[edit]We have a couple of references cited in the article for the six Australian shows announced thus far. One is precise about the towns where the concerts will be, the other lists only the arena names. In any case, the arena names clearly reveal to anybody unclear where Boondall is that Brisbane is likely nearby, if not the actual metroplis containing the venue.
I have tried to maintain the place names provided in the Pollstar source, because to do otherwise is to violate WP:RS and WP:OR. Having reverted several edits to the nearest city – edits which were never explained with even the briefest mention in a single edit summary – I have attempted a compromise, in which we maintain the venue town names as provided in the source, and additionally provide the city name in parentheses for Brisbane and Adelaide.
A user just removed that compromise, again without any attempt to explain why, so I have again reverted to the previous presentation. If that is not satisfactory, please explain why here. I am interested in hearing cogent arguments. Let's have a discussion. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 21:57, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Kesha/Ke$ha + Travis McCoy/Travie McCoy
[edit]Ke$ha and Travie McCoy are their performer names and they ARE touring as performers so this page SHOULD refer to them as their stage names. If we were talking about them as non-performers and just normal people, then it would be Kesha Serbet(or whatever her last name is) and Travis McCoy. Their wikipedia pages have their regular names as titles because the pages talk about them as a whole which would then make more sense to use their regular names. Fan4me (talk) 20:57, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing this to discussion. We don't use the stylized forms (that is, we're not supposed to, although it may pop up sometimes) of names on Wikipedia, per WP:MOSTM. See also this brief exchange as well as most any article about her or her recordings, tours, etc.
- I am aware that Travis McCoy started performing as Travie, and his album is recorded under Travie, and should be discussed that way. I base the preference for "Travis" in this article on (1) the fact that the WP article for the guy is Travis McCoy, suggesting it's still the most common name for him; (2) links and references elsewhere on WP are mixed, which doesn't prove "Travie" is wrong, but doesn't convince me it's better either; and (3) I haven't seen anything source-wise here billing him as "Travie". If the poster used in the article's infobox had included him (I looked earlier), that would have helped guide me. What do you have that bills him as Travie for this tour? I'm ready to be persuaded on this one.
- It happens that I reverted your last reversion some hours ago, and only just now saw your post on the Talk page. Perhaps you could point to Talk when you include an edit summary in future edits. That'd give us a heads-up to look here. Thanks again for posting here. Regards, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 00:36, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll let the Ke$ha thing slide but if that wasn't a rule on wikipedia i would fight you to the end with that one. lol
- I'm going to still have to disagree with Travie though. Here on Rihanna's official website there is a picture advertising the tour and clearly addresses him as Travie McCoy. http://www.rihannanow.com/live That is an official picture made for her official website officially for the tour so it would make sense to use Travie. And for that last thing you told me to do, "point to Talk" I have no idea how to do that. I'm new to wikipedia as an editor. Fan4me (talk) 19:15, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Cool, that poster is good enough for me. If you want to, go ahead and change all the "Travis"es to "Travie"s. When you do, you can try this out:
- Before you click on Save page, go to the wide field just above it, labeled Edit summary (you can click that label for a better description of what to do).
- Type in your hint to us about what you're doing. Sometimes this is "Corrected spelling" or "Updated venues for new Tahiti show" or similar. Here, you can say something like "Changed "Travis" to "Travie" McCoy. See Talk page." You can get fancier than that, but you've communicated to the rest of us what you're trying to do and why. The why is here in our conversation, so you don't need to express it in the edit summary this time.
- Click on Show preview, the button next to Save page. Watch the page refresh to show you what you're about to save.
- Look at your edits in the upper part. Did they come out the way you expected? Did you type "Traves" accidentally? (If yes, just re-edit it and preview again.) There's also a preview of your edit summary. How's that look?
- If you've checked your edits and your summary, and you're happy with both, now click on Save page.
- Check again, and go on to the next page or edit.
- Happy editing! — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 20:03, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Concert Synopsis
[edit]what? i spent all that time fixing the mistakes and it gets taken away?? grrrrr
Shouldn't there be a Concert Synopsis section though? That's in like every Tour page. Fan4me (talk) 15:38, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it's too bad it wasn't "taken away" before you started working on grammar and spelling. Another fix would have been providing reference citations for the material (instead of deleting). Unfortunately, it appears to have been WP:OR. I invite you to keep an eye out for such material, and not just to save you time and frustration from tweaking text later deleted.
- I think a synopsis would be a fine addition, although I haven't noticed one in other tour articles. (I take that back; I've just gone looking and the first two tour articles I checked, The Monster Ball Tour and The Circus Starring Britney Spears, each had one.) It'd need to be backed up with good references, of course. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 04:03, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm not going to add one in, that's too complicated for me(and I still haven't gone to a show. August 28th baby!!) but I hope someone else does.

DJ Ross Rosco and J. Brazil = opening acts
[edit]OK i went to the concert at the NY state fair in Syracuse. Ke$ha was never scheduled to be the opening act, only Travie McCoy was. A few days before the concert, he cancelled so he could be part of a music festival that day. there should be a news post about the festival on http://traviemccoy.com So when I got to the show, I didn't know WHO would be the opening acts. A DJ who introduced himself as DJ Ross Rosco came out and played a mix of hit songs for us for an hour. Here's proof > http://www.nysfair.org/grandstand Then after waiting what felt like forever, a guy called J. Brazil came out and performed 3 songs for us. He said 7 months ago he was a waitor at Rihanna's concerts and now he's opening for her. "Dreams really do come true" I think he even tweeted about it so check out his official twitter profile here > http://twitter.com/JBrazilMusic
Then after a long wait, Rihanna came on. I wish you wouldn't remove my edit right away thinking I'm wrong. I wouldn't lie. Fan4me (talk) 15:07, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explanation. I have added your State Fair page as a ref for Rosco, but that page won't last very long, and we should have something durable. I know there are ways to archive a page like this, but the one time I tried it I got iffy results. If anybody here wants to take a swing at it, that'd be great.
- Even greater would be to find a newspaper or other reliable third-party source, which won't change out from under us. Ideally it would list both of these performers, because I have deleted J. Brazil as unsourced. I don't mean to imply that you're lying, but you don't qualify as a reliable source for WP, and your anecdote isn't verifiable (or count as verification of the claim in the article. His tweets don't help us any. I hope you (or somebody else here, if not me) can find better sourcing. Then we can re-add the Brazil guy and replace the State Fair citation. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 22:18, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- OK how's this? http://blog.syracuse.com/entertainment/2010/08/rihanna_sings_mixes_power_ange.html it's a proffesional review. Fan4me (talk) 03:57, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- That helps with J. Brazil somewhat, although it is a blog post and doesn't name "the DJ". Let's try to find something that mentions both. (I don't know how big Syracuse is; maybe there's only one paper and not another music writer for 500 miles. ) — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 10:59, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- OK how's this? http://blog.syracuse.com/entertainment/2010/08/rihanna_sings_mixes_power_ange.html it's a proffesional review. Fan4me (talk) 03:57, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
how is that not good enough?? We already confirmed the DJ so it doesn't matter what the review says about him. but the review does also mention J Brazil which should be good enough confirmation!! I was at the concert anyway, I would know! If something happened, it happened! Fan4me (talk) 14:46, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- The ref for DJ Ross Rosco is currently only the State Fair Web page. Soon the Fair will be over and, although I don't know exactly how fast this will happen, I am 100% sure that in less than one year that page with this year's attractions will be replaced with the acts booked for the 2011 State Fair. At that moment, the article loses verification of that one fact.
- Since we'll need to find another source for Rosco, I thought it would be spiffy if the replacement we found also mentioned J. Brazil, you know, with both of them together in one single, durable source. There's gotta be something out there, but I haven't had time to look yet. I figured since you're in the area you might have more luck finding something quickly.
- In the meantime, you can add J. Brazil to the article again, using the State Fair ref above. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 17:34, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
I actually live 3 hours away so i'm not THAT close. but I added him in. Fan4me (talk) 22:24, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Last Girl on Earth. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20100409214055/http://www.etonline.com:80/news/2010/04/85712/ to http://www.etonline.com/news/2010/04/85712/
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
