Flag?

Name of Province
[edit]I believe that the correct name of the province is simply "Las Palmas". The capital of the province is the longer "Las Palmas de Gran Canaria". I have never heard of "Las Palmas de la Gran Canaria", actually. Backspace 18:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're right. There were several mistakes in the article, in which "Gran Canaria", "Las Palmas de Gran Canaria" and "Las Palmas" were frequently misused. I must stress that "Gran Canaria" refers to the island, whereas "Las Palmas" is the province formed by Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and "Las Palmas de Gran Canaria" is a city, and the capital of both the island and the province. 79.145.142.9 (talk) 22:51, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
