Name

[edit]

The translation of the name doesn't sound utterly kosher. Krähn, yes - German. Meaning crows. However holm - I am rather sure - is a Swedish word (think Stockholm). Ergo a melange of German and Swedish? The original Estonian name for Kreenholm might have been Lepasaar. See Narva Ajalugu 1, 1936, p. 22. Sean Maleter (talk) 08:12, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Google search there are 48,800 results for Kreenholm+textile versus 6,030 for Krenholm+textile. Page name changed accordingly. Beagel (talk) 18:37, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
