Same issue, different article
[edit]Same issue with Tasties.food.2017, other article this time. Broad claim stated in Wikipedia's voice soured to an unreliable source - it's a blog site, very new, nothing to show it meets WP:RS or that this is a remotely notable reviewer. Ravensfire (talk) 01:30, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed. [1] does not appear to be an adequate source, and this would not belong in the lead even if it were. One blogged review does not warrant including this. Meters (talk) 01:41, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- The latest attempt to add this claim has 5 sources:
- http://justformoviefreaks.in/entries/tamil/kolamavu-kokila-honest-movie-review appears to be a blog review.. This is the original ref.discussed
- https://www.imdb.com/review/rw4296287/?ref_=tt_urv is useless. It is nothing but an IMDB copy of part of the above MovieFreaks review
- http://skymovies.club/kolamavu-kokila-trailer-reviewnayanthara-vijay-tv-anchor-jakulin-motta-rajendran-aniruth_HTgdU20vY6gI.html says "loosely based on" We're the Millers It is a two-line summary written before the film was released and does not look like a particularly reliable source.
- https://www.sunriseradio.fm/news/showbiz/nayantharas-kolamaavu-kokila-enjoys-a-great-opening-weekend-at-the-overseas-box-office/ says "it is a remake" of We're the Millers
- http://www.seithipunal.com/cinema/kolamavu-kokila-copy-of-we-are-millers appears to say that it is a blatant copy (using Google translate) of We're the Millers
- I'm not sure how reliable any of these sources are, or if they are the same sources that were previously used to make this claim in We're the Millers, but there is a large difference between "inspired by", "loosely based on", "remake of" ,and "blatant copy of". For that matter, the plot as described in this article certainly does not seem to have much in common with "We're the Millers". Meters (talk) 06:12, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- The user making the edits was involved in the previous discussion at Talk:We're the Millers but won't be able to comment here until block ends. Meters (talk) 06:15, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- For the specific sources raised, certainly the first two are right out. Blog and IMDB is a WP:RS for very, very little information (see WP:IMDB). Skymovies is just a promotional blurb at best (and appears to be quoting some other unknown source), so not a WP:RS. Sunriseradio is a possibility, but it's a very short piece and not a movie review, just a promo blurb. Seithipunal appears to be an interview with a Singapore movie director. This is the best of the bunch, but would need attribution as it is an interview (primary source). Ravensfire (talk) 19:15, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
- That's my take on the refs too. Seithipunal seems to be the most likely to be useful, but unfortunately it is also the one that goes the furthest, calling calling ihe film a blatant copy, which the plot description does not seem to support. I have not seen Kolamavu Kokila, but I have seen We're the Millers and there are major differences in the plots.. Meters (talk) 19:56, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
