yeah right, this guy's totally not noteworthy! http://onthemedia.org/transcripts/2009/09/18/04 -- 80.132.248.206 (talk)

As someone who works in a technological field, I strongly feel that Josh Harris is important not only for what he did, but when he did it. The fact that one or more persons haven't heard of him is not a reason to delete the article. Isn't education one of the goals of creating an Encyclopedia? I object to the proposed deletion. Good grief this guy is totally noteworthy. I came here looking for info on him after hearing the On the Media story, and if this page had been deleted I would certainly think less of Wikipedia.

"Widely influenced"? "King of the Jungle"?

[edit]

From the article: "On the Swedish TV show Kobra, Harris stated that he had been widely influenced by the 1998 movie The Truman Show.[8]"

How can someone be "widely" influenced by something?

"He strongly believes...the machine becomes the new king of the jungle.[9]"

This whole sentence is bizarre and un-encyclopedic. King of the jungle? Really? Who wrote this? A child or Harris himself? Inoculatedcities (talk) 02:50, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

[edit]

This guy is not-notable. This should be raised as an AfD Avatera (talk) 15:19, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What is your threshold for notability? He has had documentaries written about him and been called an internet pioneer. I am stunned that anyone could question his notability. Bangabandhu (talk) 23:56, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's outrageous to even consider deletion. The fact that this Wiki page is so limited raises more questions than it answers regarding what I've seen/read/heard about the guy.

I agree - this guy was a huge internet pioneer. This page is important. Could be updated though. The movie has a lot of information about him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.63.106.75 (talk) 19:18, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time to remove the "Unencyclopedic" template now?

[edit]

Hi. I see the "unencyclopedic" template on the article but I don't see any clear talk here about what content is inappropriate. So I'm going to remove the template soon and then I suggest anyone who still feels strongly about this article being unencyclopedic do one of two things:

  • simply delete the content you find inappropriate from the article
  • or, if you think the whole article is inappropriate, then proprose deletion for the article: WP:PROD
