Junior?
[edit]I have to ask, is the "Jr." really necessary in the article title? Since the title uses both his parents surnames, he is already distinguished from his father by that. If the article was called simply "José E. Meléndez", then it would be necessary. What does everyone else think? Thief12 (talk) 15:18, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Article name
[edit]I'm not sure about the move of this article, or the one about his father (José Quique Meléndez). Since "Kikito" is a more colloquial nickname, I think we should use the full name and redirect the nickname. Also, a Google searche of both "Jose Enrique Melendez" and "Kikito Melendez" or "Quiquito Melendez" show that the full name is more common. Other examples where this isn't done are Rafael Cordero Santiago (instead of "Churumba"), María Meléndez (instead of "Mayita"), or Felisa Rincón de Gautier (instead of "Doña Fela"). Finally, since the nickname is alternatively spelled as both "Quiquito" and "Kikito", the full name is a more neutral option. Thief12 (talk) 15:23, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- I was the person that executed the renames/moves mentioned above and I have no problem in reverting them or renaming them to something else. I relinquish any involvement on this matter and fully trust User:Thief12 good faith on whatever he suggests as he is more experienced on these particular subjects. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 21:37, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the support. But remember this doesn't have to be a definitive decision. You're welcome to offer your reasoning for moving the articles. Thief12 (talk) 22:02, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
