Opening heading

[edit]

This article has a lot of potential. The corporation was involved in a considerable number of events with regards to asbestos production.

what you said

[edit]

Right... for this reason, I added the corp-stub template to it... I hope that's proper.

[edit]

Removed ext lk to Johns Manville Contact Information that previously followed "Denver" in the opening sentence. Asode from a mailing address for CHQ in Denver, it adds nothing.

Hyphen in name no longer in use.

[edit]

Search of Trademark site shows trademarks for hyphenated name are expired, unhyphenated name in use since 1997. http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=78943406 This is reflected in the text of the article, but not in the current title. Will Sandberg.

Johns-ManvilleJohns Manville – Seconding the note above, there is no hyphen used in the article nor at the company website, http://www.jm.com/, which states: "Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer and...", and which is copyrighted "2011 Johns Manville". -- Tenebrae (talk) 10:26, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tone of this page, splitting the page?

[edit]

The tone of this article is a bit list-like and sparse. It might be a good thing to have someone re-write it to be more encyclopaedic, and maybe split off the asbestos-related issues into a separate page for the now-split off Manville bankruptcy trust?Gofigure41 23:26, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I added the name of our new CEO - plus, a question

[edit]

My name is Holly Leiker, and I am the Media Relations & Internal Communications Lead at Johns Manville. I have a quick question that I hope you can help me with.

I updated the Johns Manville Wikipedia page with the name of JM's current CEO, and the change appears on that page. However, when you do a Google search for Johns Manville, a box appears on the right that gives a few facts about Johns Manville (and it attributes those facts to Wikipedia). I wanted to change two things in that box: one, I want to take the hyphen out of Johns Manville, since the hyphen is no longer part of the name; and two, I would like the name of the current CEO, Mary Rhinehart, to appear. (Right now it shows the name of Todd Raba, who left JM over a year ago.) Could you please let me know how those changes could be made? Or would that be something that Google would update?

In addition, within the near future, we would like to add some content about JM to the article, to better reflect the company's current operations. I would like to see if there are any objections to that.

Sincere thanks,

Holly Leiker72.37.249.188 (talk) 22:51, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your Google question has been answered at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#How to change our CEO's name on our Wikipedia page (permanent link). We do have objections to companies editing their own articles. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:58, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
