John Tyler III?

[edit]

Is there any documentary evidence that this person was known by his contemporarites as "John Tyler III", or is this an after-the-fact convenience invented by genealogists for their own purposes? If it is the latter, it does not belong in this article. There doesn't appear to be consensus among genealogists that this is his proper title, anyway. I did a search in the Mormon online archives at familysearch.org and found multiple differing genealogies that could not agree on whether a certain Henry Tyler was this John Tyler's father, grandfather or great-grandfather. Even absent that, he should not be styled "John Tyler III" if he did not go by that name, especially since his grandson apparently did. Rklear (talk) 16:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth

[edit]

On the left side in the general description it states he was born in York County, Virginia. On the right side in the box of personal details it says he was born in Charles City County, Virginia. It could be one or the other or neither. But it cannot be both.

Could somebody please fix this error?
