Sales

[edit]

The link posted next to vol. 2 and the blueprint 2 are way outdated. Vol.2 was released in '98, the billboard page that the link leads to was posted in '99, of course it hadn't sold as much. The blueprint 2 was released in November of '02, the billboard page that the link leads to was posted in early '03. You must also remember that the sales of double albums are doubled, which would mean that 1.7 million was equal to 3.4 million and the album wasn't finished selling.

Who the hell was that dumbass who cinreased jays album sales to these overzealous numbers. Dumbass,,,whateva..dont worry homie i reverted it back to what its supposed to be..

There's some exaggerating on the sales numbers. I want to see some sources first before putting 9 million numbers to any of the albums. I'd say many of those sales are based on pure guesses anyway, which doesn't work especially because Jay doesn't sell that much outside US. Koord (talk) 07:41, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone (Namely "str8cash") is very much bent on listing exaggerated guesses for worldwide sales. We need to see sources and references for frankly, trash like "9,000,000+" worldwide. It simply can't be tolorated. If anyone wants to list the sales of the old albums in the U.S. and WW, be my guest. Find the proper sources and the article will be edited accordingly. Until then, incidents like such are why this website is quickly denounced as a credible source. Don't exaggerate because you like Jay-Z. Wreiad (talk) 03:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mixtapes

[edit]

This page needs a section for mixtapes. --Thelogicbox (talk) 11:04, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jockin' JAY-Z And Brooklyn Go Hard

[edit]

Neither of these songs have any refrences stating they were released as a single, nor have i found a website that says they are singles, i am going to change them to "other singles that have charted". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.180.195.166 (talk) 01:52, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guest Apearances

[edit]

Somebody should add a list of guest apearances, especially the ones pre reasonable doubt. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.210.93.242 (talk) 14:28, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I think that the "other charted songs" section should be only for Jay-Z's songs and that anything featuring Jay-Z should go under the featured section for consistency. Andrewlp1991 (talk) 20:05, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But the fact is they are not singles. Singles go in the singles section and this is exactly what "other charted songs" was made for. Str8cash (talk) 20:13, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I get your point, but why single out those 2 songs? Wouldn't you have moved those bubbling under-only songs like "Love & Life Intro" or "Black Republican" as well? Andrewlp1991 (talk) 20:52, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm on it right now. Str8cash (talk) 22:43, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In My Lifetime #1 in UK?

[edit]

Can anyone verify that? Looks suspicious. --PenaltyKillahJw21 00:17, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Jay-Z discography

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Jay-Z discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ARIA":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:42, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Executive producer

[edit]

I think that it is possible to create a list of albums that Jay-Z was the executive producer. For example Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor, The College Dropout, The Rising Tied and Music from Baz Luhrmann's Film The Great Gatsby. This is a very important part of his discography. Gatsby Song

[edit]

The song 100$ Bill from the movie Gatsby is not included. Is there a reason why?

35.16.23.169 (talk) 20:53, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Put simply, it's not a single, and hasn't charted, so there's no reason for any section of the page to include it. You'll find it here, though. On some discographies, there is a section for guest appearances on other compilation/soundtrack albums and on other artist's songs, but since with Jay-Z this list is rather long, it has been moved to the aforementioned linked page. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 07:52, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sales of American Gangster

[edit]

I have changed the sales of "American Gangster" When you go back to the billboard article you will find a different number — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.67.68.41 (talk) 20:53, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Split

[edit]

Support split - The "Jay Z discography" article is close to 200 kB in size, and should be split to new articles entitled Jay Z albums discography, Jay Z songs discography and Jay Z videography. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:49, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
